What is the matter with the Internet? (To the rhythm of ‘Rice Pudding’)

What is the matter with Google Plus?

It’s throwing a tantrum – Oh! what a wuss!

It’s terribly slow, far worse than a bus:

What is the problem with our WordPress?

Hits are a rarity, shares a vile mess!

Posts lost on Facebook add to the stress:

What is the current foul Internet Glitch?

Faults maddening as scratching an itch!

Three hours for an email; it’s a bit bloody rich!

What is the current foul Internet Glitch?

What is the chance of recovery soon?

Or must I get down and pray for a boon?

Or open my laptop with knife, fork and spoon?

What is the chance of recovery soon?

This might seem, to you, like a frivolous plaint:

When set against murder and morals so faint:

But, for too many writers, trivial it AIN’T!

The frustration and anger would try a Top Saint!

I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised, Marilyn! The whole frustrating elephant in the room seems to have been classified under the Official Secrets’ Act – and only the Top Bods are allowed to know what’s going on! Glad you enjoyed the poem: A.A.Milne’s children’s collection were great favourites of mine back in the sixties – and I adore the ‘Now we are Sixty’ take-off of them; in fact, that was what gave me the idea. Great to hear from you. x

Please do! I wholeheartedly concur: I wish the buggers would stop fiddling! ‘Rice Pudding’ was a favourite of mine when I was a child – and that slightly petulant tone seemed ideal for what I wanted to say! Thanks for commenting!
